| Leominster Massachusetts
is a medium-size community situated 50 miles northwest of Boston and providing
for its residents and businesses a semi-rural setting with free access
to anywhere in Massachusetts on Route l-190 and Route 495.
Residents are very proud of the mix
of small town friendliness and character with the strong industrial and
retail base which makes the community a magnet for shoppers from all the
surrounding towns. The city also prides itself on its excellent cultural
mix and on the school system residents describe as the most important city
service.
Its location and work force have
attracted manufacturing firms, primarily plastic companies, as well as
related tool and die and service industries. The city is presently mounting
a recruitment drive to inform biotechnology firms about the advantages
of Leominster, which residents note include appropriate zoning, available
properties and skilled and semi-skilled workers.
After the research and development
has been carried out in Boston and Cambridge, Leominster officials hope
biotech companies will see their city as the best place to begin producing
the new products of the 21st century.
